The Arizona Wildcats will carry a No. 1 national ranking when they face Michigan in a non-league basketball game at Ann Arbor at noon Saturday.
The Wildcats are 9-0, including a victory over Duke.
Arizona is No. 1 in the writers and coaches polls.

Detroit Mercy junior guard Ray McCallum Jr. said Saturday he will forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for entry into the NBA draft, a spokesman for the university said.

McCallum, the 2013 Horizon League Player of the Year and Lute Olson All-American, helped lead Detroit to its second straight postseason appearance with a trip to the NIT, along with recording its second-straight 20 win season finishing 20-13 overall. 
This past season he led the Titans in points (18.7), assists (4.5) and steals (1.9) for the third-straight season as well as minutes played (36.6). He also led the Horizon League in scoring and steals, while finishing second in assists, assist-to-turnover ratio (2.2) and minutes played. McCallum was also sixth in field goal percentage (49.1) and had at least one steal in all but six games, while scoring in double figures in all but five games on the season.

“I want to thank the University of Detroit Mercy, my coaching staff and my teammates. I’ve enjoyed my three years with them,” said McCallum. “It has been very special playing for my father and helping to build the basketball program to a championship level.”
“It has been an outstanding experience coaching Ray. I am proud to see his growth over the last three years,” stated coach Ray McCallum. “As his coach and father I am supporting him in his pursuit to becoming a professional basketball player.”

Indiana's loss to Butler and Florida's defeat at Arizona on Saturday helped shrink the number of unbeaten Division I college basketball teams to nine.

It could be ugly.
The Huskies have not had a losing season since 1986-87, Jim Calhoun's first season as coach.
But that streak might be in jeopardy.
Guard Jeremy Lamb and big men Andre Drummond and Alex Oriakhi have left the program. Lamb and Drummond declared for the NBA draft; Oriakhi is transferring to Missouri.
In April, the school announced it has released Michael Bradley and Roscoe Smith from their scholarships.
With the status of Bradley and Smith uncertain, UConn was left with six returning scholarship players.
The Huskies have signed Omar Calhoun, a 6-foot-4 guard from New York.
Also hanging over the UConn program is a ban from participating in the 2013 NCAA tournament because the Huskies failed to meet NCAA academic qualifications.
The school appealed the ban.

It's on to Cleveland for the second round through finals of the Mid-American Conference basketball tournament. Western Michigan, the eighth seed, plays 12th-seeded Northern Illinois and 11th-seeded Central Michigan takes on Toledo, the seventh seed, in quarterfinal games Wednesday night.
In first-round action Monday, fifth-seeded Eastern Michigan lost to Northern Illinois 55-52. Meanwhile, WMU beat Ball State 69-63 at Kalamazoo and CMU took down sixth-seeded Bowling Green 54-53 at BGSU.
In the 12-team MAC tournament, the top two seeds don't play until the semifinal round.
Akron is the 1 seed and Buffalo the 2.
Ohio is the 3 and Kent State the 4.

Oakland begins play in the Summit League basketball tournament against Southern Utah on Sunday night. The Golden Grizzlies are the third seed and Southern Utah the sixth seed for the tournament that culmiinates with its championship game March 6.
All games are at the Sioux Falls Arena in South Dakota.
Oakland went 11-7 in league games, while Southern Utah was 8-10. The Grizzlies swept the teams' two regular-season games.
Corey Petros, formerly of Eisenhower High School, played in all 31 regular-season games for Oakland. He led the team in rebounding withh 7.2 per game and scored 8.7 points per game.
The winner of the Summit League tournament receives a bid to the NCAA tournament.
