Jack Varney Sr., former Mount Clemens racer, dies at 66
Jack Varney Sr., a former Warren resident who raced at Mount Clemens Race Track, has died, according to Bill Barnhart, president of the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club. Varney, of West Branch, was 66. Varney graduated from East Detroit High School and worked as a welder and fabricator at Bell Fork Lift in Mount Clemens, according to his obituary posted on the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home Web site. A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday (June 3) at O'Guinn funeral home in Clio.
